Stay in a restored 1915 schoolhouse on the Trysil river.
Four self-contained apartments inside a historic schoolhouse - by the river, in the mountains, a short drive from Trysilfjellet. For families, teams and travellers who want a place with a story.
A schoolhouse with its own history - reopened as a home.
The old Øverbygda school was completed in February 1915. The Norwegian poet Halldis Moren Vesaas was among its first pupils. For more than a century the building has been classroom, carpentry workshop, teacher's residence - and since 1971, four independent homes. In 2019 Cato Haugen took over, and the property has been restored from the ground up: a fence modelled on the Gulskogen estate, a lit façade, new terraces, and four apartments rebuilt floor to ceiling.
